Today we're introducing a new identity for Bitrig: a new logo and wordmark, new app icons for Bitrig and Bitrig Remote, updated typography, and more.

Our first logo was an app icon, made back when Bitrig was only an iPhone app, and it got us this far. But Bitrig is bigger now. There's a Mac app, a website, videos, and plenty of other places an app icon can't go.

To design the new logo, we were lucky to work with Ben Barry. You've almost certainly seen his work. Bitrig is an app for making apps, and the new mark is an app icon made of app icons: four in a grid, with a fifth reversed out in the center to reveal a plus, or a sparkle if that's how you see it.

The new identity is bigger than a single app. Bitrig Remote, the companion app, has its own icon, drawn from the main logo.

With big plans ahead, we're glad to have an identity that can grow with us. It's all rolling out now across the apps, the website, and everywhere else.
