Bitrig Now Lets You Use Codex and Your Own AI Subscription

Bitrig Now Lets You Use Codex

There are two kinds of people.

Coke people and Pepsi people. Coffee people and tea people. Morning people and night people. And, increasingly, Claude Code people and Codex people.

We’re building Bitrig for all of you.

Until now, Bitrig has exclusively used Claude Code under the hood. Today, that changes:

You can now build with Codex in Bitrig.

Codex Now In Bitrig

When you start a new conversation, choose the AI agent you want to use. Opus and Sonnet are available with Claude Code, while GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.4 are available with Codex.

Even if you don’t have a strong preference, having both available makes Bitrig more useful:

  • Better uptime. No AI provider has perfect uptime. If one service is slow or unavailable, you can switch to the other and keep working.
  • Better models. OpenAI and Anthropic are in a real horse race. Sometimes one pulls ahead. Then the other does. Use whichever one is better at the moment.
  • A second opinion. Different models have different strengths. If one AI can’t get a feature working or fix a bug, you can switch and let another one take a crack at it.

We're also shipping one of your most requested features:

You can now connect a Claude or ChatGPT subscription to Bitrig.

Bring Your Own AI Subscription

When you connect a subscription, Bitrig uses it alongside your credits, so you can draw from either one. For heavy AI users, the high-usage tiers of Claude and ChatGPT can be a great value.

Our job at Bitrig is not to sell you tokens. It’s to help you build great, native apps for Apple platforms.

So, whether you're a Claude Code person or a Codex person, a credits person or a subscription person, go build something great.
